A Captain (500 GT Unlimited) and Mediterranean sailor with over thirty years of experience, Franck Gachet has dedicated the bulk of his career to gaining an intimate understanding of pleasure craft—from their construction and aging processes to design flaws and issues arising from years at sea. This hands-on experience—gained on deck, under the hull, and within bilges and technical spaces—forms the foundation of his expertise.

A boutique firm

Operating under the entity Yachting Concept Limited (registered with the Antibes Trade and Companies Register) and holding an RNCP Level 7 qualification as a Maritime and Inland Waterway Surveyor, he has built a boutique firm based on a "single-assignment" principle: every case is handled personally, without delegation to junior staff and free from conflicts of interest associated with parallel commercial activities. This structure ensures consistency and high quality in the reports produced, meeting the standards of a certification recognized at the highest level of professional qualification.

Continuous professional development

His commitment to continuous learning ensures he stays abreast of regulatory changes (MCA, SOLAS, EU directives), new onboard technologies (hybrid and electric systems, hydrogen propulsion, high-performance composite materials), and maritime case law that may impact the practice of marine surveying. Consequently, he serves as a credible point of contact for industry professionals as well as for the magistrates and arbitrators to whom he presents his findings.
