Technical Consulting and Support
Beyond providing technical expertise in the strict sense, Franck Gachet guides shipowners and managers through key technical decisions: Should they undertake a major refit or sell the vessel? Is a repair quote realistic? Which shipyard is best equipped for the job? Is a proposed propulsion system modification compatible with the vessel's classification? Is a planned change of flag feasible given the technical requirements of the target state's administration?
Complete Independence
He acts as a trusted, independent advisor with no commercial stake in the outcome of the decision. He receives no commissions from shipyards, equipment suppliers, or marine brokers. This total independence is what gives his advice its value. He also assists with the negotiation and management of complex refit contracts, supporting the owner in dealings with shipbuilders and service providers, and verifying that the work performed complies with contractual specifications.
