Yacht Market Valuation

Determining a yacht's market value is a complex process influenced by multiple—and sometimes conflicting—factors: technical condition, age, maintenance history, the reputation of the builder, current market conditions, geographic location, optional equipment, engine hours, and the date of the last major refit. It cannot simply be reduced to consulting reference values found in generic databases.

A Rigorous Valuation Method

The market valuation performed by Franck Gachet is based on a physical inspection of the vessel, a comparative analysis of the current market (similar active listings and recent transactions involving comparable vessels), and an assessment of the actual technical condition observed during the inspection. The process yields a substantiated valuation range—defensible in any legal or official proceeding—accompanied by the contextual details necessary to understand the underlying assumptions.

When to Have Your Vessel Valued

This type of service is requested in a variety of situations: establishing "agreed value" insurance coverage; resolving valuation disputes during estate settlements or court-ordered asset divisions; acquiring or disposing of marine assets for corporate balance sheets; mortgage refinancing; and verifying the validity of a brokerage offer.
